4.2 Design Deliverable
4.2.1 The design basis shall include:
1 The project background,design criteria,technical sources and licensing,and scope of design.
2 The configuration,capacity and annual on-stream availability of the plant and the plant capacities under various operation cases.
3 The yields,conversion rates and outputs of products,intermediate products and by-products.
4 The specifications for feedstock,products,intermediate products and by-products.
5 The physical and chemical properties and parameters of catalysts,the chemical properties,parameters and trade names of chemicals,and the standard numbers of the products.
6 The specifications of utilities such as water,steam,instrument air,plant air,nitrogen,fuels and electric power.
7 The expected figures and guaranteed figures of plant performance.
8 The international standards,national standards,professional standards or the standardsdesignated by the licensors or know-how providers for project engineering design.
4.2.2 The process description shall include:
1 The physical and chemical philosophies and features of the process.
2 The main operating conditions for the process and under various operation cases.
3 The routing of fluids from/to the process equipment,the critical operating conditions of major process equipment,the main process control requirements and the control philosophy for emergency shutdown.
4.2.3 The PFD shall indicate:
1 The process equipment,and their tag numbers and names.
2 The locations of main process piping and special valves.
3 The stream numbers and operating conditions.
4 The heat duties of heaters and heat exchangers.
5 The names,operating conditions and flow rates of utilities.
6 The main control and interlock schemes.
4.2.4 The stream datasheets shall indicate all the operating conditions and the related physical and chemical properties of each stream under various operation cases.
4.2.5 The overall material balance shall include:
1 The overall material balance for all products.Material balance diagram may be used to indicate material flow rates and inter-relations between each plant of the plant which is to produce multiple products,intermediate products or byproducts with several units.
2 Balance diagrams may be used to indicate material flow rates and the inter-relations between users for complex cases such as the repeated utilization or stepwise utilization of materials.
4.2.6 The consumption data shall include:
1 The annual consumptions of feedstock.
2 The name,initial loading volume,service life and annual consumption of catalysts,and the equivalent consumption per ton of feedstock or product.
3 The name and annual consumption of chemicals,and the equivalent consumption per ton of feedstock or product.
4 The normal consumption and maximum consumption of utilities,such as water,electric power,steam,nitrogen and instrument air,plant air.
4.2.7 The list of analytical items shall indicate medium names,analytical items and analytical frequencies and methods for startup and normal operation to meet the production needs and product quality requirements.
4.2.8 The P&ID shall indicate:
1 The process equipment,and their tag numbers and names.
2 The nominal sizes of main process piping,startup and shutdown piping,safety relief system piping,utilities piping and valves.
3 The material classes and particular requirements of special piping.
4 The safety relief valves.
5 The main control and interlock loops.
4.2.9 The recommended equipment layout drawings shall indicate the locations and recommended distance between major equipment,and specify the particular requirements and the provisions that must be followed.
4.2.10 The process equipment list shall indicate the tag numbers,names,quantities,operating conditions,specifications and materials of the equipment shown in the P&ID,and shall indicate the vendors recommended for proprietary equipment.
4.2.11 The process equipment description shall describe the features,type selection philosophy and material selection requirements of major process equipment,provide the datasheet of each piece of process equipment by categories such as reactor,column,general vessel,heat exchanger,heater,rotary equipment and machine,and give the fluid properties,operating conditions,process design and mechanical design conditions,specifications and sizes,materials and key design requirements as well as any process related details that must be described.And schematic diagrams shall be provided for major stationary equipment.
4.2.12 The instrument description shall include:
1 The instrument index shall indicate the tag numbers and names of the detection and control loops shown in the P&ID.
2 The main instrument datasheets shall indicate the names,tag numbers,process parameters,types or main specifications of the instruments shown in the P&ID.
3 The main interlock logic relations.
4.2.13 The special pipes shall include:
1 The material class requirements and pipe fitting requirements.
2 The special piping list shall indicate the tag numbers,nominal sizes,P&ID numbers,piping from/to,fluid names,fluid states and operating conditions.
3 The process and mechanical design requirements shall be specified for the special pipe accessories one by one,if any,and schematic diagrams shall be attached if the special pipe accessories are complex.
4.2.14 The summary of relief valves,rupture discs and breathing valves shall indicate the names,tag numbers,relief mediums,process parameters and relief quantities.
4.2.15 The PDP deliverables shall also indicate the involved patent names,patent numbers and licensed countries.
